This Privacy Policy explains how Heiman Ventures LLC ("Heiman Ventures," "we," "us") handles information in connection with the Worth mobile app and this website (together, the "Service"). We built Worth to be genuinely useful and to collect as little about you as possible.
The short version
- You don't create an account or give us your name or email to use Worth.
- Photos you scan are used to identify the product and are sent to our AI provider to generate a verdict. We don't use them to identify you and we don't sell them.
- We never see or store your payment card. Any subscriptions are handled by Apple.
- Some "buy" links may earn us a commission. That never changes a verdict.
Information we collect
Product photos you scan
When you scan a product, the photo is sent to our analysis service and our AI provider (OpenAI) to identify the item and generate a verdict. Photos are processed for this purpose and are not used to identify you, are not sold, and are not published.
Scans, saved items, and price tracking
To power your history and to track prices for items you save, we store product details such as the product name, category, verdict, and prices. This information is associated with an anonymous identifier for your app installation, not with your name or email.
Anonymous app identifier
Worth automatically creates an anonymous account for your device so your history and saved items work. No login, name, or email is required. This data generally does not carry over if you delete and reinstall the app.
Basic device and diagnostic information
Like most apps, we may receive standard technical information (such as device type and app version) needed to operate the Service and fix problems.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or payment card details.
How we use information
- To identify products and generate verdicts.
- To show real prices and where to buy.
- To save items you bookmark and track their prices over time.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
Service providers we share with
We use trusted third parties to run the Service. Each processes data only as needed and under its own privacy terms:
- OpenAI — analyzes the scanned photo and powers the in-app assistant.
- Supabase — securely stores your scans and saved items and provides the anonymous account.
- SerpAPI — looks up retail prices; only the product name is sent, never your photo.
- Apple — distributes the app and handles any subscriptions.
- Affiliate networks — if you tap a "buy" link, it may route through an affiliate network so we can earn a commission.
We do not sell your personal information.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to retailers may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence a verdict or where a product ranks.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your scans and saved items while you use the Service. Because your data is tied to an anonymous installation identifier, deleting the app generally ends our ability to associate that data with your device. To request deletion of data associated with your installation, email us at Adam@heimanventures.com and we will help.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Worth is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
International users
We operate in the United States, and information may be processed there. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in the U.S.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
